Wednesday, Apr. 9, 1862

Played for Guard
Mounting. no Parade
Practiced as usual.
Having very disagreeable
weather.
Captn Drake came in
to day has been
to Gallipolis with
monies
Had my Hair cut
off short

James L. Drake, Captain of Co. H., 1817-1880. Severely wounded in September 1862 and brevetted out as a Major.
