1862 April 26

April 26th 1862
My darling wife
I have received
various letters from you lately, writ-
ten at various times and on sundry
places--they have not come to me
in the order in which they were
written but still they were very sweet
and interesting-
We are in status quo, nothing having
taken place worthy of mention.
Let Jimmy know that I want to
join his company when ever I can
get off from this and all I
ask is to mess with him, provi-
ded he intends to live like a
gentleman--
I have dreamed of you every
night--you see how my thoughts
run--I love you dearly &
want to see you very much
love to all  Your devoted husband

unsigned letter of Howe Peyton Cochran
