1862 April 26 Shady Springs, Va.

Saturday, Apr. 26, 1862
After guard mounting
this morning we left
camp & marched perhaps
5 miles to place called
Shady Springs ( now
Camp No 3)
passed that place where
the cavalry were
killed. 4 Comp's I believe
left camp last night
on a scout
Went out to get
some provisions was
not successful Charlie
& I went out and got
milk
Cloudy clearing off
this afternoon
