[from the diary of Samuel Johnson of the 1st Massachusetts Independent Light Battery]


                       April 20

To day.  D. Co. 2nd N. Y. Artillery
disembarked their battery, the other
batteries will do the same tomorrow.
Very cool and quite unpleasant.
