Camp on Beckley’s Farm, Apr. 19th.
In consequence of inclement weather, our
march has been indefinitely
postponed.
We are encamped on the
grounds of one
Gen. Beckly, a Northern man
by birth &
education, but of Southern
sympathies,
the latter of which was the
means of
his being sent to Wheeling
recently, under
guard. We have a level camp, but if
rain continues at present
rate, there’ll be no limit to mud.
