Played for Guard mounting
and evening Parade
Practiced as usual
Went out this afternoon
to see Gen Beckley who
has returned played some
Co G returned this evening
with one prisoner say
they have walked
about sixty miles
Have written a letter
to Mrs Campbell
mostly Clear
General Alfred Beckley, 1802-1888, commanded a militia unit which was disbanded by General John B. Floyd. Beckley resigned his commission,returned to his home in Raleigh and surrendered to Col. Rutherford B. Hayes of the 23rd Ohio
