1861 October 5

[From the diary of Eugene M. Cox of the Albemarle Border Guards]

9 P. M. Nothing unusual has occurred to-day on our site--Late this evening there was much (apparently) activity in the cooking department of the enemy camp which indicates some movement on his part--all quiet in camp and we rest---
