Your note of the 27th ulto has been
received and placed before the General com
=manding this Army Corps, who instructs me
to say through you, that he is greatly in need
of good teamsters, and therefore if 50 of the
most trusty of the free negro men referred to
who can drive teams, and set at once to
Major A M Barbour, Chief Quarter Master
of this Army Corps, it will greatly serve us
at this time. Good hands are wanted
and let them understand before they come
that they will be properly paid for their la
=bor, as other teamsters.
