1862 November 4 on the Nashville road

[from the diary of Captain William F. Hunter, Co. B., 97th Ohio]


     Nov. 4th, ’62.
All quiet to-day, un-
til about 3 P.M.,
when we received
an order to prepare
to march, imme-
diately. Drawn up
in line on the side
of the road, where

we remained un-
til the whole of Wood’s
division train had
passed, about 88.
M., [i.e. Meridian, or noon] when we started,
& marched rapidly
about 6 miles on
the Nashville road.
Encamped at 10 P.M.
