Thursday 9th very foggy & threat'ning rain. Eliza has received a letter from
Mr Mason--none for me--& Mr Parnells Richmond dispatch must
have stopt 7 days since it has ceased coming--I shall feel quite
at a loss for Virginia news--Mrs Phillips spent yesterday with
Liz-& we all sat up in Liz's room & enjoyed her company. Little
William has a fever--Sarah sent for Dr Jones to see if it was scarlet fever?
