The two squadrons of 6th
cavalry I sent out this morning
now occupy Hillsborough having
had a skirmish with the rebels
& lost a corporal taken prisoner
by his horse falling--
It is reported that
Mumford is a Snickersville
with infantry, cavalry & artillery
I shall soon know--
