1862 August 14 Staunton, Va.

[from the diary of Joseph A. Waddell, civilian employee of the Quarter Master Dept.]


Thursday, Aug. 14, 1862.
The only news we have to-day is that troops are
 pouring towards Gordonsville from both sides. Mc 
Clelland is said to be there with all his army, while 
our troops are coming from Richmond.
