1862 August 10 Camp Green Meadows, Va.

Sunday, Aug. 10, 1862
After Guard mounting
went out on one
of the teamsters horses
to where they turn off
to pasture them onto the
Branch and got some
Laurel stopped a short
time at Mr Waters[?]
then stopped & had
some dinner at
Mr Coxs he came to
the picket post with
me he expects to leave
for Ohio tomorrow
parade Companies returned
from Scout succeeded in
burning the salt works
Cavalry had 2 horses wounded
wrote Letter to Mrs Camp
bell. Spent the evening
talking with John Benton
of old times Clear beautiful
moonlight night
