1862 September 5 3 miles from Fort C[?]
[from the diary of Ephraim A. Wood, Co. C, 13th Massachusetts]
Friday Sept 5th/62
The Sutler came this morning
I was on guard at his tent for
a short time, there was such
a large crowd to bye something.
About ten Oclock I left Camp and
went over to the 35 Mass Regt.
I did not find any one that I
knew, the other part of the Needham
quota went in the 38 which I think
is in Maryland
