Dear Parents
You will probably hear
from George all the stirring news of
the day.
I have been in the adjutant's
office the most of the time since
I came here until Thursday I was
appointed ward master of the
24th Regt. Surgeon J.C. Manson of
Pittsfield.
Through the influence of Hiram
mostly. The work will not be
very hard. pay $20 1/2 per month
I shall try and get a
furlough for a few days, next week.
You can put into that valise
things that you think will be of service.
Please send me $10 directly
