1862 June 15 Lynchburg, Va.

Sunday 15  very hot weather in the early
part of the day--Church most ex-
cellent sermon--about 4 o clock
a heavy rain; attended by a sudden
remarkable change of temperature
from which I caught a severe cold
Church at night--Heard of a bril
liant exploit of  Stewart Stuart with
a brigade of cavalry
