Luc rode with me to Chancellorsville
where we got an Examiner containing our
version of the battle. Our People
did nobly. Dick's regiment in the fight.
He behaved gallantly in the battle of
Williamsburg. Such awful carnage!
Brother's hands inbrued in brother's blood!
What a cruel shame! God help
us and stay this terrible calamity.
