1862 May 18 Camp Bullock near New Bern, N.C.
[from the diary of Jesse Calvin Spaulding, Co. F, 25th Massachusetts]
Sunday
May 18
Was on guard at headquarters. Had
a very good time. Read some. attended
services at four oclock by Mr James, about
Christ rolling away the stone from the door by
which we would enter to salvation. Helped them
sing. Heard them sing in the evening.
