1862 January 2 Fayetteville


    [from the diary of Charles Hay, Co. H, 23rd Ohio]                    


  Fayetteville, Va.  Jan. 2nd. 1862.        
My furlough is ready for the signature of the
Brigade Commander, (Col. Scammon,) which will be
obtained in the morning, and I shall leave forthwith.
Feel very unwell, no better yet.
