Spent the day in Camp –
Wrote to Mollie, to Lingan
& to I read until 11 o’clock
Rec’d our pay today to the 1st
January 1862. Fred Ogden, Col
Righter & Capt Hague left for
New Orleans today – Frys Norcum
had chills today – Wrote to
Newell again today enclosing
ten dollars of his money –

Harry Fairchild went to town
today – Weather too rainy for
drill or roll calls
Charley Howell & Little Simpson
from the 14th La Regt visited
