1862 July 9 Lynchburg, Va.

Wednesday 9  Weather very hot. Young
Jennings who had been engaged to stay
in the Bank, did not make his appear
ance and I had to post the Books[?] &
enter the checks, which proved a very
severe labor.  No news from any quar
-ter.
