[from the diary of Ephraim Wood of the 13th Massachusetts]

         Sunday   July 27/62

   Pleasant but very warm
There was not much doing
this forenoon.  In afternoon
we unload, and pack away
teams which brought hard bread from
the Depot.  In the afternoon
there was very little Private
Seabray  Healy & Kendall came
here, from the Hospittal at
Alexandria.  The stoped at
my quarters over night
The order that white brought was not
