1861 Dec[ember] 11 Front Royal

Dear Richard

Richard Bayly Buck, Co. B of the 17th Virginia [Warren
Rifles]

Amos goes down in the morning.
I have only time for two or three lines.
He takes you a bag of vegetabls--
Cabbages--Potatoes, Turnips Beets Beans Honey
Can Peaches &c Please be sure to di-
vide liberally with him--The more I
see of the fellow the more I feel an
interest in him--

I am just from his home and
was deeply touched to see his little
children clambering about him, perhaps
for the last time.

Cous Mount is perhaps a little better
Charley is improving rapidly--I am quite
unwell, with cold--sick indeed [?]--the rest
of the family well for local news I refer you
to Amos--We were quite disappointed
that you did not write yesterday--

Hope to hear from you tonight--
This is written from town, while I wait
for the cars--Your Ma I think sends you
some clothes Hastily truly you afftant
M. B. Buck
