I was detailed for guard
duty today I am on regimental
guard no 4 Colonels quarters
to day is a very nice day
we have had good weather for
a good while and I hope
it will continue so
for a long while yet
we have the guar[d] house
pretty nigh full of secesh
prisners They are an awfull
hard set or looking set
dirty & raged They would
make a good band
of cut throats by their
lookes I presume
we had to sleepe in
the jail at night for
it is the guard house
They are trying lots of the Boys by
a courtmarshall
