Wednesday. January 15th, 1862.
Spent the morning on fixing up Company
matters. Have a sick headache all day
Weather moderated this Evening. Put Shawn [?]
in the guard house today – Settled all
my little debts in Camp today – Every
body is settling up. Visited Preston [?] today –
Wrote on a furlough for 30 days
today – to visit New Orleans – send it
in to Head quarters tomorrow –
The snow looks beautifully today – Weather
too bad for roll calls. Kept in the
House all day – The boys playing
Cards. No mail today
